I've been a patient at Professional VisionCare for 15+ years and I would highly recommend them. I've been to both the Westerville and Johnstown offices and have had good experiences at both locations.
Our son experienced difficulty with study habits throughout school experience and was prescribed glasses at age 10 by a different eye doctor. Prescription was so strong that he would not wear glasses. Teachers at school gave up insisting he wear them. We called the eye doctor- he offered no helpful suggestions other than to have our son get a book of mazes, and work them to exercise his eyes. Seven years later, after taking SATs and ACTs and only being able to finish a little over half of each test, we knew something had to be wrong. Our son went to a very good school, and was articulate. He can be idioticat times (if you think your kids are perfect, you're wrong) but we knew it had to be a processing issue- we just didn't know what the problem was. At The Solution Center, Dr. Burns tested our son MUCH more thoroughly than the first eye doctor had done. There were tests we had not known existed. For the first time, we could see for ourselves (on a computer screen) the severe disparity between his eyes' tracking patterns. Dr. Burns prescribed glasses AND vision therapy, which my son enjoyed. Vision therapy wasn't covered by insurance and was VERY expensive, but worth every penny. No regrets. The first pair of glasses was temporary- one of the lenses was only half the strength, because the difference in the way each eye was tracking was so dramatic that had he been given full prescription strength glasses, our son would have been nauseated and dizzy. This is how he felt over seven years earlier. I had never witnessed my son smile while reading. His SAT and ACT scores improved enough to qualify him for colleges that would not have considered him had they only seen the first test scores. I WISH other offices and doctors were so driven to make each experience personalized and thorough. My son's academic experience would have been MUCH better if we had taken him to Dr. Burns first. About three years ago, I noticed my own vision was not what it should be. It was tiring to read for any reasonable length of time. I'd been wearing glasses for about seven years, but things were worse. Dr. Burns gave me an exam and found that I suffered from the same eye issue as my son. I was so impressed with Dr. Burns and with the Solution Center that I insisted my husband see this team as well. As to the two negative reviews: I agree that sometimes the staff appears perfunctory. The place runs like a well-oiled machine. This can be frustrating- I too have felt a lack of empathy at times. The staff must do things systematically and move on. There are so many people who come to this office and the reason is that the doctors are thorough, and the result is better eye care. The staff is trained in a specific way, and while someone may have been new and seemed inept, this is absolutely not the norm. If anyone seems snooty or brusque, it probably is not the intent. My ONLY personal gripe is that the frames are so expensive. There does not appear to be any attempt to provide a variety of price options. I now wear prescription sunglasses when I am outside, without fail. I'm 48 and this practice helps prevent glaucoma. The staff strongly encourages prescription sunglasses, for good reason. It seems like a luxury to many- it certainly seemed frivolous to me at first. I honestly thought it was just an excuse to make more money. I'm very glad I invested in sunglasses, though. When I'm driving or working in the yard, I see beautifully and do not squint. Less tension in the face makes a big difference, and if I'm preventing blindness, that's great. I would highly recommend Professional VisionCare and The Solution Center, especially if you notice your child avoids studying, hates reading aloud. Children make fun of kids who struggle to do what seems easy for everybody else. Behavioral issues arise. Years of this can truly have a detrimental effect on a child. If your child is a candidate for vision therapy, she may fight the process if she is very young. This is because it's actually a physically demanding, redundant activity. Stick with it.
Our entire family are patients at Professional VisionCare and love it! The Doctors are wonderful, professional & caring. The Staff is very helpful and their service is excellent. We have also taken our toddler son to the Solution Center for his very first eye exam and they were so great with him. I would highly recommend this family-friendly office to anyone who is in need of vision care services!!!
I have been a patient of Professional Vision Care for over 25 years. The doctors are superb and I would completely trust any of them with my vision health. I took advantage of their Vision Therapy years ago, which helped to train my eyes to work more efficiently together; the results were phenomenal and continue today. They have a doctor on call at all times during 'off hours' and whenever we have had eye injury emergencies the on call doctor met us at their office within minutes! I would recommend Professional Vision Care to anyone looking for the absolute best eye doctors available. I would not go to anyone else, bar none.

I have used Professional VisionCare for my eyeglass frames for several years. I like getting a new pair of glasses every year. Because my prescription does not change, I can switch glasses to match what I am wearing. My style of glasses range from sassy to classy! I first visited Professional vision care during a designer show. I was impressed with the number and quality of frames at the show. The personel were friendly and helpful in making sure I got what I was looking for. I had my first eye visit with Dr. Johnson and was surprised at how extensive the exam was. I haven't ever had that extensive of an eye exam in all the years I have had eye exams. Dr. Johnson and the staff were friendly and explained what each test was and answered all my questions. I would recommend Professional vision care to anyone.

I've been going to Professional Vision Care since I was 6-years-old, and although the wait time once you're checked in can be a bit long sometimes (but not always! last time they got me rolling just a few minutes after I got checked in) the atmosphere is friendly, the Doctors are professional and the staff are fun and knowledgeable. Love the glasses selection too!!Also, the French Roast Coffee is pretty impressive for a waiting room machine; I actually enjoyed it 🙂
I have been going to pro vision care for over 10 years. In my experience I have seen Dr Burns and Dr Nixon(male). Both doctors are great and thorough. Dr Burns makes sure she knows everything about your eyes and will tell you of any changes each year. Your eyes are her #1 concern and she is a delight.As for the frame selection... in General ,It's a little pricey for my taste but if I look really hard, I can find at least one frame that is covered at 100% By  VSP insurance. I highly recommend Pro Vison Care for your eye needs! You won't find better doctors.
Dr. Johnson and the staff at the Westerville office are great! They're very professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. We were referred to Professional VisionCare by our former eye doctor when he retired. This speaks very highly of this office as he doesn't make referrals without background information. Dr. Johnson is very thorough with his exam and makes sure we understand everything before we leave. Our prescriptions are always correct and with no issues whatsoever. We highly recommend Dr. Johnson and the Westerville office.

Dr. Johnson is very thorough and takes time to explain everything. He has a decent selection of glasses and his staff will help you find the right size and fit and will look for other sizes and colors on the manufacturer sites if you find a pair you like but need to tweak. Bonus - He's got a dinosaur!Double Bonus - cofee!Triple Bonus - He even offers baby's first eye exam on the house!

No medical appointment is ever "fun" per se, but this establishment really makes it an easy visit. In 10 years I have never once had a bad experience. The exams are quick and painless and they explain everything they are doing as they go. You're made to feel safe, clean, and in good hands. And the friendly staff! You'll feel like a super star going in. They're always so sweet, welcoming and hospitable. Seriously, cannot  recommend this place enough!
My Vision Insurance changed with the new year (2015). That being said, Tracy V went above and beyond to ensuring we utilized any remaining eligible spending allowance from our prior Vision Insurance. Â While researching each dependents contact lens cost she kept me well-informed as she compared the pricing for daily and monthly contacts. Â I was very satisfied with the service Tracy provided.
One of the best vision care appointments that I have ever had! Wait time was what is expected for a popular place. Doctors are excellent and the assistants are on their A game every time I am there. I have to recommend this location over all other places I have been!

Never had any problems getting the correct prescription. Staff has been consistently competent. Appointments do take awhile but I feel that staff are doing due diligence to answer all my questions. I've been coming here for 2 years.

Dr Amy Lay did a great job on my exam...very thorough and I felt my eye health was her main concern. I will definitely be going back. They seemed to understand all about my insurance and did all the billing for me., I found great frames that I love! They have a great selection of frames to pick from. I have worn glasses/contacts for 18 years and have never had as thorough of an eye exam as I had here. The doctor's are super kind and genuinely listen to your concerns. Every staff member that I interacted with from the moment I walked in the door was extremely friendly and helpful. I have a tricky prescription, a high astigmatism and have never been able to find contact lenses that fit perfectly, but Dr. Johnson worked with me and helped me find the perfect lenses and I couldn't be happier. If you wear contacts, he's the guy to go to! :)I've always gone to other 'discount' vision centers in the past, and while it may have been cheaper at that very moment, at least at this office I know that I'm getting quality product and going to a place where the staff truly care about my vision. I will definitely be back next year!

I've been bringing my daughter to PVC to see Dr. Evans for years now. Â The staff is amazing, kind, Â and seem to go above and beyond to make folks feel at home. The doctors have a lot TLC for their patients and take the time to make sure excellent eye care is provider. Â My daughter had a lot of vision issues that I didn't even know about when I brought her here. Â I thought her eyes crossing we merely cosmetic; turns out her eyes didn't work together and she had double vision. Â It was really scary to hear that but Dr. Evans recommended Vision Therapy. Â It worked beautifully! Â Now the whole family comes here to the 185 S. State Street location and we are all blessed to have this same special treatment.
I've had my eye exams here for 2 years and I feel that all the doctors gave a thorough exam. They listened to all of my concerns and when I was wanting to try out contacts again. All of the staff was exceptional from the Front desk ladies, to the OA, to the Opticians. Everybody was very friendly. The front desk staff were very happy to see me as soon as I walked through the door. They seemed to have everything ready for me and also offered my a hot cup of coffee. I don't know of ANY other medical offices that actually treat me like a human and offer me a beverage and keep me as comfortable as they could while I waited. A huge thumbs up to this office!!!
I've been wearing glasses since I was 9 years old and in all of my years I've never had such a thorough eye exam. The staff was wonderful. The lady with bright red hair helped me pick out the perfect pair of glasses, she had fabulous style and was truly one of a kind! I will be back for sure!
Best place ever to get an eye exam! From start to finish, I was impressed. As soon as I walked in, I felt very welcomed and was offered free coffee. The doctor's assistant was kind and informative, and the doctor was by far the best I have ever seen for my eyes. The gal who sold me the glasses was awesome! In the past week I've been seen for emergency appointments with concerns regarding a corneal abrasion. I am so appreciative of the staff and making me feel like a priority and the knowledgable doctors for caring about the health of my eye!!! So grateful!! I could go on and on but these Drs. care! We LOVE Dr. Burns and the Solution Center!!!!! It has made such a positive impact on our family. My husband and I have never worn glasses, so we were really thrown (and a little scared) when our four year old daughter needed them for Amblyopia. Dr. Burns and the staff at the Solution Center have been SO gracious, patient, informative, and kind, and the entire building is so child-friendly. My daughter has a lot of anxiety, and she actually looks forward to her appointments. I literally can't shut up about them. I recommend Dr. Burns to everyone I know!!!!!!!!
My son was having trouble completing his work in school. A friend recommended vision therapy at The Solution Center. I did not know it but his eyes had a tracking problem so even though he didn't fail regular vision tests, he still didn't see very well when focusing on smaller items such as print. The vision therapy sessions really helped him. He finishes his work now and he's not so fidgety at school. Before he went to vision therapy, his teacher was concerned he might have ADHD. I'm very glad we were able to correct the problem without medication. He is a much happier boy now. Thank you!

Dr. Burns at the Solution Center diagnosed my 20-year old son with Convergence Insufficiency. The part of his brain that should be processing spatial information is not working as it should. He exerts an inordinate amount of energy to focus and this has likely led to physical problems including headaches and extreme fatigue. With therapy, his eyes should be able to work much better and his reading should significantly improve. This should be life changing for him. We are so grateful!

My son is 4 years old and seen here. I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff at Professional Vision care. The tech that started our visit did an amazing job of engaging my son and making him feel comfortable. Then the Doctor was just as amazing. She let him know what she was doing the whole time and went above my expectations and found a video clip of Batman for him to watch during the exam because he said he liked Batman.
I felt my exam was very thorough and that the staff genuinely care about my eye health.
