Dr. Schneider earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Franciscan Service and Advocacy with honors from Siena College in Albany, NY in 2017. She then went on to earn her combined Doctorate of Optometry and Master of Science (OD/MS) with honors from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2022, and was named Class of 2022 Graduate of the Year by faculty and staff. After graduation, she continued her graduate studies and is currently in the PhD in Vision Science program, also at OSU Optometry. Her dissertation research involves analyzing how different eye measurements and imaging relate to glasses prescriptions and ability to see the eye chart for individuals with Down syndrome. As a PhD student, she also has the privilege of teaching optometry students as a TA in labs and as an attending in the Pediatric, Binocular Vision, Vision Therapy, and Primary Care Clinics on campus.
Dr. Schneider recently joined Professional Vision Care to cultivate her passion for direct clinical care on Saturdays. While her research work and clinical teaching have a pediatric and binocular vision focus, she also thoroughly enjoys working with patients of all ages and abilities, and she takes pride in providing quality primary eye care to every patient.
Dr. Schneider enjoys giving back to her community. She volunteers with organizations for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities (Next Chapter Book Club, Special Olympics Ohio and Buddy Up for Life Inc.,) and as a RealEyes educator for school-aged children with the Ohio Optometric Association. In her spare time, she also likes to read mystery novels, crochet, embroider, and spend time with her fiancé.
